BC Racing DS Series Coilovers – BMW F20/F21 & F22/F23 3-Bolt
The BC Racing DS Series Coilovers for BMW F20/F21 1 Series and F22/F23 2 Series models with 3-bolt front top mounts are a performance-focused suspension upgrade designed for sharper handling, improved chassis control and greater suspension adjustability.
Using BC Racing’s proprietary digressive piston design, the DS Series provides increased damping force at lower piston speeds while allowing the suspension to respond more freely at higher piston speeds. This makes it particularly well suited to fast-road BMWs, spirited driving and track-focused builds.

BMW F20 & F22 Suspension Upgrade
The BC Racing DS Series gives F20/F21 and F22/F23 owners significantly more control over their suspension setup than the standard dampers and springs.
Ride height and damping can be adjusted to work alongside other handling upgrades such as performance tyres, uprated anti-roll bars, polyurethane bushes, strut braces, adjustable suspension arms and performance alignment settings.
For a fast-road BMW, the DS Series can provide a sharper and more controlled driving experience while retaining enough suspension compliance for everyday use. For cars that regularly see track time, the additional damping control provides greater scope to develop the setup around tyre choice, alignment and circuit conditions.

Digressive Damping Technology
One of the biggest differences between the DS Series and the standard BR Series is its digressive damping technology.
The DS Series is designed to provide increased damping force during lower-speed damper movements. These are the movements the driver experiences during body roll, braking, acceleration and rapid weight transfer.
As damper shaft speed increases, the damping curve becomes less aggressive, allowing the suspension to respond more freely to bumps, kerbs and rough sections of road or circuit.
This gives the DS Series a strong balance between chassis control and mechanical grip, making it particularly well suited to drivers who want to push their F20, F21, F22 or F23 further.
3-Bolt Top Mount Compatibility
This BC Racing kit is specifically for applicable BMW F20/F21 1 Series and F22/F23 2 Series models using the 3-bolt front top mount configuration.
The 3-bolt and 5-bolt applications use different coilover configurations, so it is important to confirm your vehicle's top-mount configuration before ordering.

Choosing Your Spring Rate
The DS Series is available with different spring-rate configurations depending on the application and selected specification.
The ideal spring rate depends on how the car is used, the vehicle's existing modifications, tyre choice and your preferred balance between comfort and handling.
For predominantly road-driven cars, the recommended spring rate can provide a good balance between chassis control and everyday usability. Higher spring rates can be considered for track-focused cars, particularly those running semi-slick tyres, aerodynamic upgrades or significantly modified suspension setups.
