BC Racing DS Series Coilovers – BMW M2 F87 2016-2018
The BC Racing DS Series Coilovers for the BMW M2 F87 (2016-2018) are a performance-focused suspension upgrade designed to provide improved chassis control, sharper handling and greater suspension adjustability for fast-road and track use.
Built around BC Racing's digressive valving technology, the DS Series provides increased damping force at lower piston speeds to improve control of body roll, pitch and weight transfer, while allowing the suspension to respond more freely to larger bumps and kerbs.

BMW F87 M2 Suspension Upgrade
The BC Racing DS Series gives F87 M2 owners greater control over their suspension setup than the standard dampers and springs.
Ride height and damping can be adjusted to complement other handling upgrades such as performance tyres, uprated anti-roll bars, polyurethane bushes, adjustable suspension arms and performance alignment settings.
For a fast-road M2, the DS Series can provide sharper chassis control while retaining the ability for the suspension to deal with uneven road surfaces. For cars regularly used on track, the additional damping characteristics provide greater scope to develop the suspension around tyre choice, alignment and driving style.
After fitting coilovers or making significant ride-height changes, we recommend having the vehicle professionally aligned.
Digressive Damping Technology
The defining feature of the DS Series is BC Racing's digressive piston design.
The damper provides increased damping force at low piston speeds, helping control body roll, pitch, braking dive and rapid weight transitions during cornering and acceleration.
As piston speed increases, the damping curve becomes less aggressive, allowing the wheel to move more freely over bumps and kerbs. This can help maintain better chassis balance and mechanical grip during demanding driving.
30-Way Damping Adjustment
The DS Series features 30 levels of damping adjustment, allowing you to fine-tune the suspension response to suit your driving style and conditions.
A softer setting can be used for more compliant road driving, while firmer settings can provide additional control for spirited driving and track use.
This adjustment also gives you the ability to develop the balance of the car around different tyres, alignment settings and circuit conditions.
Adjustable Ride Height
BC Racing's ride-height adjustment is made through the adjustable lower mount rather than simply compressing the spring.
This allows ride height to be changed independently of spring preload and helps retain damper travel when lowering the car.

F87 M2 Spring Rates
The DS Series is available with different spring-rate configurations for the F87 M2.
The commonly supplied configuration is 6/12 kg/mm, with alternative configurations such as 9/16 kg/mm also available depending on the selected specification.
The ideal spring rate depends on how your M2 is used, its tyre choice, suspension setup and whether the car is primarily road or track focused.

Top Mount Options
The DS Series is available in different configurations depending on the required top-mount specification.
The DA configuration includes pillowball front top mounts, while other DS configurations can use rubber or existing OEM top-mount arrangements depending on the specific kit.
