Suitable for selected Ford Focus Mk2 models including the Focus ST, the DS Series uses BC Racing’s digressive damper technology to provide increased low-speed damping force for improved body control, steering response and chassis support without simply relying on excessively stiff spring rates.

Multiple DS-DS and DS-DA configurations are available, allowing the suspension setup to be tailored around road use, track driving and more focused competition applications.

Digressive Damper Technology

The key difference with the BC Racing DS Series is its digressive damping profile.

Digressive damping provides greater control during lower-speed suspension movements such as braking, acceleration, corner entry and weight transfer, helping the car remain flatter and more composed when driven hard.

At higher damper velocities, the damping curve becomes less aggressive, allowing the suspension to absorb sharper bumps and surface changes more effectively.

Alternative DS-DA configurations include:

The recommended DS-DS 6/4.5kg.mm configuration provides the most balanced option for road and fast-road use, improving body control and response while retaining greater compliance for regular driving.

The DS-DA 6/4kg.mm option provides an alternative performance setup, while the significantly higher 12/10kg.mm and 10/12kg.mm configurations are aimed towards much more focused track and motorsport applications.

DS-DS Configuration

The DS-DS configuration is supplied with aluminium front top mounts using rubber centres.

Depending on the rear suspension application, aluminium rear top mounts with rubber centres may also be supplied, or the kit may retain the appropriate original rear mounting arrangement.

This configuration provides the benefits of DS Series digressive damping while retaining a more road-friendly mounting setup.

DS-DA Configuration

The DS-DA configuration is supplied with aluminium front top mounts featuring pillowball centres.

Where the vehicle uses a MacPherson strut arrangement, the front top mounts can provide camber adjustment.

Depending on the rear suspension application, aluminium rear top mounts with rubber centres may also be supplied, or no replacement rear top mounts may be required.

The DS-DA specification is particularly suited to drivers wanting a more direct and performance-focused mounting arrangement for fast-road, track and motorsport use.

Adjustable Ride Height & Damping

Ride height can be adjusted independently of spring preload, helping retain usable damper travel when lowering the vehicle.

The 30-way damping adjustment allows the suspension response to be fine-tuned according to road conditions, driver preference and intended use, from everyday driving through to demanding circuit work.

The recommended DS-DS 6/4.5kg.mm configuration provides a strong balance for road and fast-road use, while the alternative DS-DA options allow the Focus Mk2 platform to be configured for significantly more focused track and motorsport applications.

Professional installation is recommended.

A full four-wheel alignment should also be carried out after installation and once the final ride height has been set to ensure correct geometry, tyre wear and handling characteristics.

Where adjustable pillowball top mounts are fitted, suspension geometry should be set by a competent specialist to suit the intended use of the vehicle.
