R53 Mini Cooper Suspension Upgrade

The BC Racing DS Series gives R53 owners significantly more control over their suspension setup than standard dampers and springs. Ride height and damping can be adjusted to complement other handling modifications such as performance tyres, upgraded anti-roll bars, polyurethane bushes, adjustable suspension arms and improved alignment settings.

For a predominantly road-driven R53, a sensible ride height and moderate damping setting will provide a more usable setup. For cars that regularly see track time, the additional adjustment provided by the DS Series allows the suspension to be tailored around tyre choice, alignment and driving conditions.

After fitting coilovers, we recommend having the vehicle professionally aligned, particularly if the ride height has been changed significantly.

Choosing Your DS Series Configuration

DS-DS – Uses rubber upper mounts and is the more road-friendly option where additional compliance is desirable.

DS-DA – Uses pillowball front top mounts for increased suspension response and additional adjustment capability.

DS-DH – Uses pillowball top mounts front and rear for a more focused setup and increased chassis response.
