BC Racing ER Series Coilovers – BMW M2 F87 2016-2018
The BC Racing ER Series Coilovers for the BMW M2 F87 (2016-2018) are an advanced, track-focused suspension upgrade designed for drivers who want significantly greater control over their car's damping characteristics.
The ER Series adds independent compression and rebound adjustment to BC Racing's coilover platform, with external reservoirs increasing damper oil capacity and helping manage heat during sustained hard driving. This makes the ER Series particularly suited to serious fast-road and track-focused F87 M2 builds.

The F87 M2 is already an extremely capable performance car, but the ER Series gives experienced drivers much greater scope to develop the suspension around their tyres, spring rates, alignment and driving style.
Unlike the BR and DS Series, compression and rebound damping can be adjusted independently. This allows you to make more precise changes to how the M2 responds during braking, acceleration, cornering and changes in surface.

BMW F87 M2 Track Suspension
The ER Series is designed for M2 owners who want to go beyond the adjustability offered by more conventional coilover systems.
Separate compression and rebound adjustment allows the suspension to be tuned around specific tyres, spring rates and alignment settings. This is particularly useful on track, where suspension behaviour can have a significant effect on braking stability, cornering grip and traction.
For a fast-road M2, the ER Series provides a highly adjustable platform that can be tailored to your preferred driving characteristics. For a dedicated track car, the additional adjustment range provides considerably more scope to develop the setup around individual circuits and conditions.
After fitting coilovers or significantly changing ride height, we recommend having the vehicle professionally aligned.
Separate Compression & Rebound Adjustment
The defining feature of the ER Series is its independent 2-way damping adjustment.
Rebound is adjusted from the top of the damper, while compression is adjusted through the external reservoir. Both provide 30 levels of adjustment.
This means you can adjust how the suspension behaves during compression and extension independently, giving considerably more control than the combined damping adjustment found on the BR and DS Series.
For experienced drivers and suspension specialists, this makes the ER Series particularly useful when developing a more precise track setup.
External Reservoirs
The ER Series uses external reservoirs to increase the amount of oil within the damper system.
The additional oil capacity helps reduce peak oil temperatures during sustained hard driving, reducing changes in damping characteristics caused by heat and oil viscosity.
This makes the ER Series particularly well suited to F87 M2s that regularly see track days, where repeated high-load driving can generate significant damper heat.
F87 M2 Spring Rates
The standard ER Series specification for the F87 M2 is commonly supplied with 6/12 kg/mm front and rear spring rates, although alternative spring-rate configurations are available depending on the application and selected specification.
Spring rate should be selected according to the vehicle's weight, tyre choice, suspension geometry, alignment and intended use.
For a dedicated track build, custom spring rates and damper valving can also be specified.

Camber Adjustable Top Mounts
The F87 M2 ER Series kit is supplied with front camber-adjustable top mounts, providing additional alignment adjustment over the standard suspension.

The correct alignment specification will depend on your tyre choice, ride height and intended use.
Maintenance and Servicing
The ER Series is a fully rebuildable high-performance suspension system designed for demanding applications.
Regular inspection and servicing are particularly important on vehicles that see frequent track use. The damper bodies, external reservoirs, adjustment mechanisms and mounting hardware should be kept clean and inspected regularly.
Following BC Racing's recommended maintenance and servicing procedures will help maintain consistent damping performance and extend the service life of the suspension. The system is designed to be rebuildable, with replacement service components available.
F87 M2 Compatibility
This kit is specifically designed for the BMW M2 F87 from 2016-2018.
It is for the original F87 M2 and should not be confused with the later M2 Competition, which uses a different BC Racing application. The BC Racing application number for this kit is I-75-ER.
If you have an M2 Competition, please select the dedicated M2 Competition coilover application instead.
