The BC Racing RM Series Coilovers for BMW F20/F21 1 Series and F22/F23 2 Series models with 3-bolt front top mounts are a high-performance suspension upgrade designed for drivers looking for increased chassis rigidity, sharper handling and greater suspension performance.
The RM Series builds on the BC Racing BR platform with inverted monotube dampers. By moving the heavier damper components towards the chassis, the inverted design reduces unsprung mass while increasing structural rigidity and improving resistance to heat during demanding use.
Designed with demanding fast-road and track applications in mind, the RM Series is particularly well suited to BMWs that see regular track use, high-G cornering or extensive chassis modifications.

BMW F20 & F22 Suspension Upgrade
The BC Racing RM Series gives F20/F21 and F22/F23 owners a highly capable suspension platform for developing the car's handling performance.
The inverted damper design provides increased rigidity and reduces unsprung mass, while helping to manage heat within the damper during sustained high-performance driving. This can be particularly beneficial on cars that regularly see track use, where suspension temperatures and lateral loads are significantly higher than during normal road driving.
The adjustable ride height and damping can be configured alongside performance tyres, uprated anti-roll bars, polyurethane bushes, adjustable suspension arms and more aggressive alignment settings.
Inverted Damper Technology
The defining feature of the RM Series is its inverted monotube damper design.
Unlike a conventional damper, the inverted configuration places the larger damper shaft and associated components towards the chassis. This increases structural rigidity and reduces the amount of suspension mass moving with the wheel. It can also improve heat management during prolonged hard driving.
For a BMW that regularly sees track days, hill climbs or other demanding driving, these characteristics make the RM Series particularly well suited to the application.
RM Series Maintenance
The RM Series is a high-performance suspension system and requires more attention to maintenance than a conventional road-focused coilover setup.
The inverted design uses a damper cartridge within the threaded outer body. The mating surfaces require appropriate lubrication and periodic inspection to prevent unwanted contact and noise. This is particularly important for cars exposed to road grime, water and frequent track use.
If you're looking for a coilover primarily for everyday road use with minimal maintenance, the BR or DS Series may be a more suitable option. The RM Series is best considered where the additional rigidity, reduced unsprung mass and high-performance characteristics justify the additional maintenance.
3-Bolt Top Mount Compatibility
This BC Racing kit is specifically for applicable BMW F20/F21 1 Series and F22/F23 2 Series models using the 3-bolt front top mount configuration.
The 3-bolt and 5-bolt applications use different coilover configurations, so it is important to confirm your vehicle's front top-mount configuration before ordering. Some F20/F21 and F22/F23 models changed top-mount configuration during their production run.

Choosing Your Spring Rate
The RM Series can be supplied with different spring-rate configurations depending on the application and specification.
The ideal spring rate depends on how the BMW is used, its existing modifications, tyre choice and your preferred balance between ride comfort and handling performance.
