BC Racing RM Series Coilovers – BMW M2 F87 2016-2018
The BC Racing RM Series Coilovers for the BMW M2 F87 (2016-2018) are a track-focused suspension upgrade designed for drivers looking for increased chassis control, reduced unsprung mass and greater durability during demanding driving.
The RM Series builds on the features of the BR Series with an inverted monotube damper design. By moving the heavier damper components towards the chassis, the inverted design can reduce unsprung mass and provide greater resistance to the high lateral loads experienced during aggressive cornering and track use.
Why choose BC Racing RM Series for your F87 M2?
The BMW M2 F87 is an excellent platform for fast-road and track driving, and the RM Series is designed for owners looking to take the chassis performance further.
The inverted damper design is particularly beneficial during sustained hard driving, helping the damper cope with higher loads while improving heat management and reducing unsprung weight.
With 30 levels of combined compression and rebound adjustment, the RM Series allows you to fine-tune the suspension to suit your tyres, alignment, driving style and circuit setup.

BMW F87 M2 Track Suspension
The RM Series is designed for M2 owners who want a more specialised suspension setup than the BR or DS Series.
The inverted damper configuration helps reduce unsprung mass and provides increased structural rigidity, allowing the suspension to cope with the demands of high-load cornering and repeated track use.
The 30-way damping adjustment gives you the ability to refine the suspension response around different tyres, spring rates, alignment settings and circuit conditions.
For a dedicated track car, the RM Series can also be specified with custom spring rates and damper valving to suit a more specific chassis setup.
Inverted Damper Technology
The defining feature of the RM Series is its inverted monotube damper design.
Unlike a conventional damper, the inverted configuration positions the heavier damper components towards the chassis rather than the wheel assembly. This helps reduce unsprung mass, while the larger inverted piston shaft is designed to withstand the high lateral loads generated by performance driving.
The design is particularly suited to cars that see regular track use, where suspension components are subjected to repeated high loads and elevated temperatures.
30-Way Damping Adjustment
The RM Series features 30 levels of combined compression and rebound damping adjustment.
This allows you to fine-tune the overall damping response of the F87 M2, from a more compliant fast-road setup through to a firmer track-focused configuration.
For more specialised setups, BC Racing also offers custom spring rates and damper valving options.
RM Series Maintenance
The RM Series is designed as a high-performance, rebuildable suspension system, making regular inspection and maintenance particularly important for cars used frequently on track.
The inverted dampers should be kept clean and inspected regularly, particularly around the damper body, seals and adjustment mechanisms. Following the manufacturer's recommended servicing procedures will help maintain consistent performance and extend damper life.
This additional maintenance is worth considering when choosing between the RM Series and more road-oriented BC Racing options.
F87 M2 Spring Rates
The recommended spring-rate specification can vary depending on the exact RM configuration and supplier.
For the F87 M2, 6/12 kg/mm is commonly offered as the recommended fast-road/track specification, while other spring-rate configurations are available for more specialised applications.
If you're building your M2 specifically for track use, we can help you select an appropriate spring rate based on the car's tyres, alignment, intended use and other suspension modifications.
Top Mount Options
The RM Series is available with different top-mount configurations.
The MA configuration uses an inverted front shock with camber-adjustable pillowball top mounts, with the rear supplied with a rubber top mount or without a top mount depending on the selected application.
Please ensure you select the correct configuration when ordering.
What's Included?
The BC Racing RM Series is supplied as a complete coilover suspension kit for the BMW M2 F87 2016-2018, including the application-specific dampers, springs and relevant adjustable components for the selected configuration.
Please check your vehicle specification and selected top-mount configuration before ordering.
