HSD MonoPro Coilovers – BMW 3 Series E46 1998–2005
Upgrade the suspension on your non-M3 BMW E46 with HSD MonoPro Coilovers, a performance-focused adjustable suspension kit designed for road, fast-road and track use.
The standard setup is supplied with 7kg/mm front and 10kg/mm rear inboard spring rates, while the Track Pack increases this to 12kg/mm front and 14kg/mm rear for a more focused setup aimed at stronger chassis control without making the car unnecessarily uncompromising.
The latest Version 2 kit, released in 2024, also introduces revised front lower brackets, integrated anti-roll bar droplink mounting and an updated rear spring adjuster for improved fitment and greater spring-rate flexibility.
Why Choose HSD MonoPro Coilovers?
The E46 remains one of the most popular platforms for fast-road, track and performance builds, and the MonoPro kit gives owners significantly more control over the chassis than standard suspension or a simple lowering spring setup.

Default Spring Setup – 7K Front / 10K Rear
The standard HSD MonoPro setup is supplied with:
Front:
- 7kg/mm
Rear:
- 10kg/mm
- Bulb-style inboard spring
This setup is better suited to:
- Road use
- Fast-road driving
- Daily-driven modified E46s
- Weekend cars
- Occasional track use
It offers a strong step up in chassis control while retaining more compliance than the Track Pack.
Track Pack – 12K Front / 14K Rear
For drivers looking for a more focused setup, the Track Pack is supplied with:
Front:
- 12kg/mm
Rear:
- 14kg/mm
- Inboard rear spring
This option is optimised for performance and compliance, providing a more serious setup for:
- Trackdays
- Nürburgring-style fast road/track builds
- Performance driving
- Higher-grip tyre setups
- More aggressive geometry
Which Spring Setup Should You Choose?
Default 7K / 10K
Best suited to:
- Road use
- Fast-road driving
- Daily use
- Mixed road and occasional track use
Track Pack 12K / 14K
Best suited to:
- Trackdays
- More aggressive driving
- Performance-focused builds
- Drivers prioritising body control over ride comfort
Custom Spring Rates
For more serious track applications, alternative spring rates can also be specified.
The updated rear spring adjuster allows harder 125mm coilover-style springs to be used, supporting rear spring rates from approximately:
- 14kg/mm
- Up to 20kg/mm
This gives more advanced users greater flexibility when tailoring the chassis around tyres, aero and intended use.
Version 2 – Released 2024
The current E46 MonoPro kit is the revised Version 2 design.
The update introduces several fitment and usability improvements over the earlier version.
Revised Front Lower Brackets
The front lower brackets now feature:
- Integrated anti-roll bar droplink tab
- Integrated positioning tab
This removes the need for the more complicated ARB tab orientation associated with older designs.
Shorter Droplinks Included
The revised front bracket arrangement is supplied with shorter droplinks designed to work correctly with the updated geometry.
This helps simplify installation and creates a cleaner overall setup.
Updated Rear Spring Adjuster
The Version 2 rear spring adjuster has also been redesigned.
It accommodates:
- Standard bulb-style springs
- 125mm coilover springs
- Harder Track Pack spring options
This provides greater flexibility for higher spring rates and more serious performance setups.
Adjustable Ride Height
The MonoPro kit allows ride height to be adjusted to suit your preferred stance and suspension setup.
This gives you control over:
- Vehicle height
- Wheel-to-arch gap
- Centre of gravity
- Overall stance
Ride height should always be set with adequate suspension travel and wheel clearance.
Adjustable Damping
Damping adjustment allows the suspension response to be tailored to suit your driving style.
This gives you flexibility to run:
- Softer road settings
- Firmer fast-road settings
- More responsive track-oriented setups
Front Camber Adjustment
Front camber adjustment provides additional geometry control and can be especially useful for:
- Sharper turn-in
- Improved front-end grip
- More aggressive alignment
- Track-focused setups
- Wider performance tyres
A professional geometry setup is strongly recommended after installation.
Improved Chassis Control
A properly configured MonoPro setup can improve:
- Body control
- Steering response
- Turn-in
- Cornering stability
- Chassis balance
- Overall composure
The final result will depend on spring choice, damping settings, ride height, geometry and tyre setup.

Some OEM wheel combinations may require spacers to provide sufficient clearance between the wheel and front coilover assembly.
Always check clearance carefully after installation.

Coilovers should be fitted by an experienced suspension technician or workshop.
After installation, the vehicle should receive:
- Ride-height checks
- Suspension clearance checks
